The Winter Solstice is usually seen as in inconvenience, and for good reason! The temperature drops, our skin dries up, our travel plans are often left in limbo, and sickness abounds. But, what if we started to look at the season and the Winter Solstice as opportunities to heal and make our lives a little more full?
Let’s look at a few ways to make the most of the Winter Solstice to keep the chill at bay!
Go Out And Make Some Noise
The winter winds might chase you indoors, but this is your chance to get outside and let your lungs loose. You’re about to go into a form of hibernation – no pools, no hikes, no parks, and no laughing outside with friends. So, what if you decided to make some ruckus? Go out and holler at the grey sky and you might just find you’ve woken your senses back up!
Get Bougie With Your Food
There’s really nothing better than a delicious meal! It’s even better when you put a little stank on it, you know what we mean? Jazz it up in your kitchen, or treat yourself to a meal from a place that you normally wouldn’t. Your body needs fuel to stay healthy, and sometimes we need a little treat to keep our spirits up. This is your chance to get snaazzy without guilt.
Reflect On The Past And The Future
While you’re laying on the couch, or the floor, nursing your full tummy and sore lungs from all the hollering outside, I’d like you to try something.
Close your eyes.
Breathe in and out.
Put your hand over your heart and feel it beating. It’s fighting. You’re here.
Now, think about everything you survived this year and applaud yourself for making it so very far. Remember this as you look to the future: you will emerge from the cold and your light will still be flickering.
